Marqués de Viana

Making great olive oil since 1870, the legendary house of Marqués de Viana is a family business famed for producing some of the most highly-prized extra virgin olive oil in the world. Situated in the Moorish township of Canena in the beautiful hills of the Guadalquivir River Valley in Andalucia, Marqués de Viana cultivates the Arbequina, Picual and Royal olive varietals in 20,000 lush hectares of biodiverse meadow.

Castillo de Canena Olive Grove

The company is a trailblazer when it comes to biodynamic and sustainable production constantly striving to reduce its carbon and water footprint with numerous certifications and awards for their environmental commitment. Nothing is wasted - the olive groves run on solar power, pruning off-cuts are used for biomass and the mill itself is powered by crushed olive stones.

Each year during harvest, the company selects which groves have produced the best olives and these are picked and taken to the mill within two hours in small containers. Sometimes only 20% of the harvest is used to make the company’s extra virgin olive oils which makes them all the more sought after and some sell out within weeks.

We are delighted to be able to offer you the newest editions to the Castillo de Canena portfolio.
